Dayo Adu Receives Institutional Backing for NUJ Secretary Contest

The aspiration of award-winning multimedia journalist, Dayo Adu, to become the Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has received a major boost as he secured the blessing of the Zonal Director of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) ahead of the December 9 election.

Adu, a Principal Reporter and seasoned broadcaster with over 15 years of experience in both broadcast and digital journalism, is widely respected for his commitment to developmental reporting. His professional engagements span media and communication strategy, research consultancy, and community-focused projects aimed at driving social impact.

The journalist, accompanied by the Deputy Director of News and Current Affairs and former Chairman of NUJ Oyo State Council, Mr. Adewumi Faniran, formally presented his nomination form at the Zonal Director’s office.

While receiving the aspirant, FRCN Zonal Director, Mr. Dominic Mokikan, described Adu as a competent and dependable professional who embodies the ideals of journalism. He urged him to uphold ethics, ensure transparency, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the union if elected.

“The farther we go, the better for the system,” Mokikan stated, recalling his first engagement with Adu during an official assignment where his performance stood out.

The Zonal Director further pledged the support of the corporation, assuring that members of staff would be encouraged to speak with one voice at the polls.
