CRPP Condemns Impeachment Move Against Edo Deputy Governor
Coalition of Registered Political Parties, CRPP, in Edo state, has condemned the move by the Edo state House of Assembly to impeachment the Deputy Governor, Phillip Shaibu
It expressed shock and disbelief that the State House of Assembly continued with the move to impeach the State Deputy Governor despite interventions by stakeholders.
According to a statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. Samson Isibor, the impeachment move by the Assembly members is condemnable, adding that those who live in glass house should not throw stones.
The CRPP noted that despite interventions of well-meaning Nigerians, including highly-respected religious leaders and political leaders, appealing to Governor Godwin Obaseki and the Edo State House of Assembly members and leadership to exercise restraint and jettison their planned impeachment, they still went ahead with the move.
