Catholic Archbishop, Abegunrin Seeks Financial Support for JDPC

The Catholic Bishop of Ibadan, Most Reverend Gabriel Abegunrin has called on well meaning Nigerians to support the activities of justice development and peace commission to enable the commission achieve the 2024 target of getting justice to the common man.

He made the call while speaking at the 2024 Fundraising Dinner with the Archbishop organised by the JDPC, Ibadan.

Most Reverend Abegunrin explained that the JDPC was at the fore front of delivering justice and succur to the down trodden, hence the call for financial support to enable the commission reach out to more beneficiaries.

Director JDPC, Ibadan, Rev. Father Jerome Ajakaiye who reeled out the achievements of the commission said JDPC took care of one thousand two Hundred and sixty-one (1,261) inmates, handled fifty cases and secured eleven release and also got one thousand one hundred and twenty (1,120) community service sentences instead of imprisonment.

Rev. Father Ajakaiye who projected that more would be done this year, enjoined the people to key into the vision of JDPC boost its activities of promoting human and justice for the poor in the state.

Highpoint of the event was the tour of St. Homobonus Centre, a well equipped skills acquisition and vocational training hub for youths.
