Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has pledged continued support for policies that protect and empower children, ensuring they are free from fear, discrimination, and intimidation.
Speaking at the 2025 National Children’s Day celebration in Akure, the Governor, while addressing enthusiastic crowd emphasised that Children’s Day was not just a time for celebration, but also a moment of reflection on the collective responsibility to nurture and uplift the younger generation.
Making reference to the theme of the celebration , “Stand Up, Speak Up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation,” Governor Ayedatiwa advocated collective effort of parents, educators, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders to build a culture rooted in empathy, kindness, and mutual respect, especially in schools and online spaces where children were most vulnerable.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs, Dr. Seun Osamaye hailed the Governor’s unwavering commitment to women and children, noting that the celebration reflected the administration’s focus on inclusivity, gender equality, and sustainable support for young people.
Highlight of the event was the inauguration of the 3rd Ondo State Children’s Parliament, an initiative aimed at giving children a platform to express their views and participate in governance.
