Adeleke Reads Riot Act to MDAs on New Procurement Laws

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has warned ministries and agencies of government against violation of the new procurement law, advising that rigorous observance of the procurement law must continue.

In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Chief Kolapo Alimi, the Governor gave the warning while addressing the State Executive Council meeting in Osogbo.

He said the new Procurement law he recently signed into law would strengthen transparency and accountability in the procurement process.

Governor Adeleke noted that the new law enhances openness and accountability in the execution of government contracts, reiterating his administration’s commitment to full enforcement of the new law.

“I must however call our attention to the existence of a new procurement law in the state. Under no circumstances should any ministry or agency bypass the procurement process. It is in the interest of everybody to abide by the procurement laws and regulations.

He urged the heads of MDAs to be mindful of state financial regulations and laws and observe the rules to the letter.

While commending the council members for their commitments to duty, the Governor further tasked the council members to ensure continuous effective implementation of the 2025 budget .

“The implementation of the 2025 budget must be pursued without hindrance. We should focus on delivering on the budgetary targets through rigorous implementation.
