Accident Claims 9 in Osun on Christmas Day
Nine people have lost their lives in a fatai road accident that occurred along Ikirun/Offa expressway, lnisa, Osun state on Christmas day
The incident involved one Mitsubishi Canter with number plate MNA606SB NIGER carrying bags of beans from Niger state heading to Edo State.
The truck reportedly lost control and veered into the bush leading to the crash which resulted in the death of nine people out of 12.
According to report, the deceased died on the spot.
Speaking on the accident, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Osun Command, Mrs Kehinde Adeleke, said the crash occurred at Yidi Junction, Inisa in the morning.
She said the three injured persons had been moved to Orotunde Hospital Ikirun, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited in the hospital’s morgue by men of the federal road safety corps, FRSC.
Mrs Adeleke added that the bags of Beans and the vehicle involved have been evacuated to Inisa Police Divisional Headquarters.
