Independence Day: Journalists will Continue to Set New Milestones in Nation Building – Akeem Abas

The Special Adviser on Media to Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) , Mr. Akeem Abas, has said men of the forth estate of the realm will continue to live up to their constitutional role by upholding the ethics of the pen pushing profession to engender further development of the Nigeria.

Abas who’s also the Treasurer, Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, reflected on the critical role journalists play in the nation’s journey of independence which was laced with truth, integrity, and fearless reporting, the country continues to evolve among nations of the world.

As we commemorate Nigeria’s journey to independence, may we all reflect on the critical role we play in nation-building.

Through our dedication to truth, integrity, and fearless reporting, we continue to contribute to the development of our beloved country.

In a new month and commemoration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence message personally signed by him, the multiple award winning journalist, urged press men to raise the standards of journalism, set new milestones and fulfil their pact of being the voice of the people.
