Guard Your Right Hand
Much more than culture and traditions, the Word places emphasis on some details that believers are not to take lightly. One of which is the mystery of the right hand. It has a huge spiritual significance.
When Israel was to bless the sons of Joseph in Egypt, it played out.
Genesis 48:18-20 KJV
[18] And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head. [19] And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations. [20] And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh
The right hand is a place of
1. Preference As seen above.
2. Focus.
Psalm 16:8 KJV [8] I have set the LORD always before me: Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
3. Strength
Psalm 63:8 KJV [8] My soul followeth hard after thee: Thy right hand upholdeth me.
Psalm 73:23 KJV [23] Nevertheless I am continually with thee: Thou hast holden me by my right hand.
4. Dominion
Psalm 110:1 KJV [1] The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
5. Provision
Psalm 89:25 KJV Ok[25] I will set his hand also in the sea, And his right hand in the rivers.
6. Wisdom
Ecclesiastes 10:2 KJV [2] A wise man’s heart is at his right hand; but a fool’s heart at his left.
7. Decision.
8. Victory.
Isaiah 45:1 NLT [1] This is what the Lord says to Cyrus, his anointed one, whose right hand he will empower. Before him, mighty kings will be paralyzed with fear. Their fortress gates will be opened, never to shut again.
9. Covenant: Hear God’s tone of finality.
Isaiah 62:8 KJV [8] The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:
10 Favour.
11. Approval.
Revelation 1:17 KJV [17] And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
Your help is as strong as your right hand. That’s why the devil competes for your right hand.*
Zechariah 3:1 KJV [1] And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
When the devil takes the right hand, he assumes a legal position to resist you, accuse you, afflict you, and eventually defeat you.
That’s why you can not allow him there.
Be careful who/what you make your worship, your strength, your focus, your preference. You can’t put money there. It’s not the place for your position or title. Don’t put man there, not even your qualifications. Whatever you’ve placed there, take it back. Man and riches cannot be trusted.
God wants your right hand.
David got it right.
Psalm 16:8 KJV [8] I have set the LORD always before me: Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
And like David, say those words (Psalm 16:8) and do it.
When God is at your right hand, you can never go wrong.
Let him be your strength and help. Look up to him alone. He shall guide your decisions and outcomes. Victory is your portion in Jesus’ name.
