Human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, has warned the Federal Government against allowing United States President, Donald Trump, to promote a religious war in Nigeria under the guise of tackling insecurity.
Falana said Nigeria’s armed forces, if properly funded and adequately equipped, are capable of defeating terrorism and banditry without foreign military intervention.
Falana, while addressing journalists in his hometown of Ilawe-Ekiti, Ekiti State, expressed concern that terrorists, appeared to be better armed than Nigerian soldiers, judging by videos circulating online.
Falana urged the Federal Government to properly equip and motivate the armed forces, stressing that neglect of key security institutions had emboldened criminal groups across the country
