The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of presidential candidates and their running mates for the January 2027 general elections.
The list, signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, was published in Abuja on Saturday and features candidates presented by 18 political parties.
According to the list, 16 of the presidential candidates are men, while two are women. The commission also recorded 14 male and four female vice-presidential candidates.
Among the presidential candidates are Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peter Gregory Obi of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Adewole Ebenezer Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
Others are Donald Duke of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Sunday Chibuzo Okereke of the Labour Party (LP), Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress (AAC), Sandy Ojang Onor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rufai Adekunle Omo-Aje of the Action Alliance (AA) and Aliyu Abbas-Bin of the Action Democratic Party (ADP).
The remaining presidential candidates are Kabiru Yusuf of the Allied Peoples Party (APP), Sunday Adenuga of the Boot Party (BP), Moses Olusoji Adebisi of the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA), Nkem Esther Okereke of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), Daniel Daberechukwu Nwanyanwu of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and Ada Elizabeth Fredrick Okwori of the National Democratic Party (NDP).
The four female vice-presidential candidates on the list are Peace Egobia Ofordile of the APP, Nafisat Usaku Abubakar of the DLA, Hajja Bintu Konto of the LP and Patience Ndidi Key of the YPP.
