Yuletide: Ondo Amotekun Begins Border Patrol of Neighbouring States

In order to have hitch-free festive seaon, the Ondo State Security Network codenamed Amotekun Corps, has deployed over one thousand, two hundred personnel to beef up security across the 18 local government areas.

This is just as the security outfit said it has commenced 24-hour border patrol in the neighbouring states of Osun, Edo and Kogi and will be in place throughout the yuletide.

The state Commander of the Corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye who announced this in Akure, also paraded 22 suspected criminals including notorious kidnappers, who were arrested by the agency within the last 14 days.

The Amotekun Commander noted that the corps arrested a syndicate that vandalizes electrical installations and transformers, and another group that engages in stealing of gasoline pump, car tire, and removal of batteries.

Chief Adeleye noted that Amotekun, in collaboration with all mother security agencies in Ondo State, have mapped out strategy to ensure that influx of visitors and so on does not increase crime rates in Ondo State.
