Ogun State government is to embark on massive planting of trees across urban and suburban areas of the state annually in the bid to restore eco-systems, boost biodiversity and fight climate change, while enhancing air and water supply to the people.<\/p>\n
Governor Dapo Abiodun made the announcement while flagging off the maiden edition of the State Tree Planting Day with the theme “Greening Tomorrow, Today” which took place at the State Secretariat, Oke mosan, Abeokuta.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Ola Oresanya had pointed out that with the level of emissions generated in the state as home to more than 6,000 industries, there was need to nurture the trees to improve the eco-system and promote eco- balancing.<\/p>\n
