Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the payment of salary arrears to workers in the state.<\/p>\n

He expressed the determination of his administration to continue to prioritise the welfare of civil servants in the State.<\/p>\n

The Governor made the commitment on during an interactive session with the top echelon of the state civil service at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor\u2019s Office in Akure.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cLet me place on record my sincere appreciation to the Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries and all the Accounting Officers here present for your unflinching support to this administration and government formerly led by my dear late Principal, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, CON with my humble self, assuming the position of Governor after his demise. It is my hope that the support and cooperation we have been enjoying from you since inception would continue unabated.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the Accounting Officers in your respective MDAs, you have great responsibilities on your shoulders. You are duty bound to account for both the management of human and material resources in your MDAs. You should also see yourselves as part of the government and ensure that all government programmes in your various MDAs are effectively and efficiently executed.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is my belief that no administration can fly higher than the delivery capacity and capability of its Bureaucracy. Hence the welfare of the bureaucrats is placed in the front burner of this administration and we will continue to prioritize the well-being of public servants.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with this clear understanding that I have directed the payment of the January 2017 outstanding salary arrears as well as directed the continuation of the palliative transport for public servants.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Governor, who promised to continue to motivate workers for optimum performance, said the appointment of new Permanent Secretaries will be done soon, based on merit and subject to vacancies and needs.<\/p>\n

Speaking, the Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele, commended the Governor for all he has done for the workforce since his inauguration and pledged the support and loyalty of the civil service to the new administration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
