World Bank Rewards Imo 4million Dollars for Engendering Good Governance, Accountability

The Imo State government says it has received the sum four million dollars from the World Bank as reward for engendering good governance and accountability in the ease of doing business.

The Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy Mr. Declan Emelumba announced this to newsmen at a news conference in Owerri.

According to him, Imo is among the four states that qualified for the reimbursement under the World Bank’s “State Action on Business Enabling Reforms, SABER programme for Nigeria.

Mr. Emelumba explained that states were assessed under efficiency of land administration, regulatory framework for private investment promotion agencies and transparency of government-to-business services among others.
