Walking All Alone In 2025 – By Dapo Falade

Sharing is caring!

By walking alone in 2025, you are walking away from troubles in your life…avoiding the path of back-stabbing, betrayal, wasted dream, lost hope, unfulfilled desires and hopelessness.”

This is January…a month of deep reflection over the past year…and of projection into the new year. 2025 is gradually shedding the toga of being a new year…it is already 365, minus two (2) days.

Soon, before our very eyes, the first, second and third quarters of the “new” year will soon roll by, within a twinkle of the eye…just like a flash in the pan…

And, just like we did in 2024 towards 2025, we will begin another round of preparations for, yet, another new year…with great expectation and hope…

We will begin to start counting our gains and losses…we will commence another round of the yearly ritual of making New Year Resolutions (if at all we still retain and maintain that old-time culture).

Walking With Dream-Killer(s)

Along the line, while planning, we unconsciously commit some grave errors…choosing the very wrong person(s) to walk with…to plan with.

Rather than walking alone to chart the right and true path, we inadvertently take along with us devilish friends who are nothing but destiny-wasters and dream-killers.

Instead of walking alone, we do our plannings along with enemies in friendly garbs…friends who we pour out our inner minds to and share our dreams with…

Friends who will often give us the friendly kiss of death…like the Biblical Judas Iscariot did to Jesus Christ to nail him to the cross.

Rather than walking alone with our thoughts, we unveil, unknowingly, our plans to frenemies wearing the toga of true friends…

We reveal to such friends much of our innermost secret pathways to great attainments and fulfilments…thus, we become willing tools of destructive manipulations.

Rather than walking with you as a true friend who is all out for your good, the frenemy will be walking, working directly opposite of your dreams…

Power of Self-Reliance

This is a poignant reminder about the value of discretion and independence in the pursuit of personal goals. The metaphorical call to walking alone is an emphasis on the importance of safeguarding one’s dreams and plans from the potential harm of misplaced trust.

Walking alone symbolises the strength of self-reliance. In 2025, individuals should prioritise their own thoughts, ideas and intuition when charting their paths. Trusting oneself is an empowering approach that fosters confidence and resilience.

Guarding Against Frenemies

The legendary Reggae superstar extraordinary, Robert Nesta Marley (Bob Marley), from the deepest of his sanctuary says: “Your best friend could be your worst enemy.”

We should avoid the alluring danger of “frenemies”—those who outwardly appear as allies but secretly harbour ill-intentions. We should learn to critically evaluate relationships, recognising that not everyone who smiles with you has your best interests at heart.

By walking alone in 2025, you are walking away from the troubles in your life…avoiding the path of back-stabbing, betrayal, wasted dream, lost hope, unfulfilled desires and hopelessness.

A Timeless Lesson

Drawing from biblical and historical analogies like what Judas Iscariot did to Jesus Christ and what Brutus did to Caesar, the nature of betrayal is timeless, often coming from trusted allies. The words of the great Bob Marley is a cultural resonance, a reminder that even those closest to us can sometimes turn into adversaries.

The Strategic Silence

In 2025, do most of the walking all alone…discretion is vital. Sharing dreams prematurely can expose you to unnecessary negativity or sabotage. Letting actions and results speak louder than words ensures that progress remains uninterrupted by external interference.

As 2025 just commences, make it a deliberate policy to do the walking, all alone…keep your thought, dream, mission and vision close to your chest…

Caution is the watchword as you plan to do your walking all alone in 2025… disclose less of your plans to your so-called confidant who may be seeking to stab you in the back…what Brutus did to Caesar remains a fresh reference point.

Balancing Friendliness And Distance

It is often been said that: “The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies; it comes from those you trust the most” and “Betrayal by a friend can be deeply hurtful and emotionally damaging.”

While isolation in its entirety is a near-impossibility, caution is the keyword here. We should seek for a balanced approach…we should maintain relationships but keep personal ambitions guarded. This will ensure a supportive social circle without compromising personal goals.

Walking alone is the hardest walk in life. So, in 2025, be friendly… socialise… fraternise, but with moderation…let the result speak for you, rather than your utterances. Most importantly, do the walking all alone, if possible.

Be deliberate in 2025…remain true to yourself…be friendly but keep your friends at the arms-length as you do the walking alone in your race to victory.

Final Reflection

As 2025 unfolds, walking alone is a metaphor for focusing on self-determination and carefully navigating interpersonal relationships.

While independence is essential, it is equally important to discern trustworthy allies who genuinely support your growth.

This is January…as you reflect into the mistakes and unfulfilled dreams of 2024, do a deep projection into what 2025 has in stock for you…priortise your list of MUST DO, SHOULD DO, CAN DO and DESIRE TO DO.

Review and limit your circle of friends… By all means, “Cut off the dead wood before it kills the tree.” If you have friends who back-stab you, get rid of them now before they hurt you.

The path to greatness is rough and tough…full of thorns and bristles. But a crown of glory lays ahead for the mind unshaken.

In 2025, may your journey —whether by walking alone or alongside a few trusted companions —lead to fulfilment and success.
