Virtuous Girl Child Foundation Empowers Teenagers with Coding Scholarship

A Non Governmental Organisation, Virtuous Girl Child Foundation, has offered free coding training to teenagers in Ibadan

At the NGO’s Legacy of An Icon annual Conference, held at the cathedral of Christ Followers Evangelical Ministry , Ibadan, the teenagers recieved the offer with excitement and jubilation.

The Founder, Virtuous Girl Child Foundation, Mrs Olufunmilayo Komolafe, stated that the foundation aimed at empowering teenagers and youths with sustainable skills that would give them competitive advantage in their field of choice.

She explained that the coding scholarship would equip them with relevant technological skills to influence global work scheme.

In an interactive session with the teenagers, a facilitator and member of the team, Victor Ola-olu, who spoke on the theme: “Going Against You”, urged the teenagers to guide their self worth and be conscious in making crucial decisions, saying going against oneself will reduce self confidence.

In her ministration, founder, Christ Followers Evangelical Ministry , Ibadan, Prophetess Esther Adebayo, warned the teenagers to shun sexual immorality, fraudulent activities, social vices so as to break even in their field of endeavours

Prophetess Adebayo, who spoke in yoruba, admonished them not to be discouraged by the economic state of their family, charging them to be determined and focused in acquiring skills that would make them better placed in life.

Father to the founder of the foundation, a retired Deputy Director News and Current Affairs in Radio Nigeria, Ibadan, Asiwaju Samson Abiodun, expressed happiness at the success rate of the foundation’s activities since its establishment five years ago.

The event had in attendance serving and retired member of staff of radio Nigeria, including Deputy Director News and Current Affairs, Radio Nigeria Ibadan zonal Station , Mr Adewumi Faniran and General Manager, Pensioners FM, Ibadan Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu.
