Students Trapped as School Building Collapses in Jos

Sharing is caring!

Undisclosed number of students have been feared dead after a two-story structure housing JSS 1 students at Saint Academy collapsed in the Bussa Buji neighborhood of Jos, the Plateau State capital, leaving many injured.

Eyewitnesses told newsmen that the incident occurred at about 10 am Friday morning when the students had just moved into their classrooms

Emergency rescue teams are at the scene rushing some of the injured students to the hospital for medical attention.

The emergency rescue personnel are still making frantic efforts to rescue some of the victims still trapped underground with the aid of an excavator.

Reports however say the bad road leading to the school site and the huge crowd is making the rescue mission slow despite the efforts of security men.
