POWA @ 60: Ondo CP Wife, Officers Wives Hold Parade in Akure
As part of activities marking the 60th anniversary of the police officer’s wives Association, wife of the Ondo state Commissioner of police, Elizabeth Abayomi has led other officers wives on a parade in Akure, the state capital.
According to her, the parade was organized to create awareness about POWA.
Mrs. Abayomi had earlier directed traffic at the popular A’Division Roundabout in Akure as part of the activities before witnessing a guard of honour mounted for the state commissioner of Police, Abayomi Oladipo for inspection.
Mrs Abayomi who’s the state Chairperson of Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) in a remark , admonished all officers wives to continue to live and lead by the good examples laid by wife of the Inspector General of Police.
Speaking on the significance of the celebration, the state Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Oladipo urged the women to always take care of their homes and husbands.
He said the parade was organized to make them feel the impact of what their husbands go through during trainings.
While underscoring the importance of conducive and peaceful homes for optimum performance, the CP noted that it will go a long way in helping police officers fight against criminal activities.
