Poverty Alleviation: ROTDOW, NAWOJ Empower 30 Ondo Rural Women
No fewer than thirty women in Ipoba 1 & 2 Community, Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State have been liberated from the chain of poverty.
The rural women were engaged in Skill Building, Vocational and Financial Literacy Courses to enhance their independence and status in the Community
Facilitators at the empowerment programme, organised by Restoration of Dignity of Womanhood, ROTDOW in collaboration with Nigerian Women Trust Fund harpped on the need for Nigerian women to brace up against challenges and hurdles of lives in order to engender national development and society.
One of them, Chairperson, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ Ondo state Chapter, Mrs Tola Gbadamosi, represented by the NAWOJ State Secretary, Mrs Oluwatosin Ighoteguono, emphasized on the need for women mostly in the rural areas to embrace vocational and entrepreneurial skills acquisition to make them self reliant
Mrs Gbadamosi, who admonished them to always take cognisant of business and vocational ideas before venturing into them, enjoined women to practice home garden to support their family.
She encouraged the women to Improve on their talents and skills in order to engage in income-generating activities, thereby boosting the household income and economic stability.
Chief Executive Officer, Restoration of Dignity of Womanhood, ROTDOW, Mrs Olabisi Omolona, who spoke through the Program Officer of the Organization , Mrs Patrick Adedoyin- Adebisi, said the courses will not only empower the women, but also equipped them with valuable skills and knowledge, which will lead to increased self-confidence and decision-making abilities.

She urge the women to make use of the every details being taught on financial literacy to enhanced their skills, improve their quality of life, ability to reinvest in their communities and contribute to their community development and social progress.
She hinted, the project which is to strengthen institutions, women voices, right and ending violence against Women and Girls provided the courses not only for the benefit of individual women, but also have ripple effects on families, communities, and society at large, promoting inclusive and sustainable development.
At the program, 15 community women were empowered in vocational skills as change agents in combating harmful social norms and attitudes towards women in the community.
