Policeman Pay N900,000 Instant Damage For Breaking Commercial Bus Screen
A member of the police Squad at checkpoint along Benin-Ore express way was on Thursday morning forced to make instant transfer of nine hundred thousand naira as payment for the replacement of a vehicle glass he damaged.
Prime News gathered that the police man angrily hit the rear glass of a commercial Bus belonging to God is Good Motors (GIGM) while trying to stop the driver heading to Benin.
The situation sparked outrage along the road as both passengers and drivers pressurised the squad and demanded instant payment for the replacement of the broken glass.
The policeman whose excesses were being trailed by regular users of the route were said to own a point of sale , POS terminal, with which he extorted money from drivers.
He was also made to sign an undertaking claiming responsibility for the damage to exonerated the driver.
The incident which lasted for about an hour, caused gridlock on both axis of the road.
