Police Nabs Motorcyclist for Attacking OOU Security Guard With Charm
A 20 year old Adekunle Francis has been arrested by operatives of Ogun State Police command for allegedly assaulting a security officer of Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU, Ago-Iwoye, with a whip suspected to be laced with charm.
Adekunle Francis, a commercial motorcyclist was arrested after the security officer attached to OOU, Idowu Joshua had reported the incident at Ago-Iwoye Divisional Police Command.
The Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola confirmed the arrest of the suspect in Abeokuta.
She said the OOU security officer claimed to had informed the suspect to re-park after dropping off a passenger the university’s mini Campus adding that the suspect engaged the security officer in a physical altercation, and assaulted him using the said whip.
Pointing out that the law does not explicitly recognise “criminal charm”, the command’s spokesperson said the suspect would face prosecution for assault and conduct likely to cause the breach of peace.
She advised residents against acts of lawlessness, violence, and any form of assault on security personnel.
