The Forum of Local Government Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State has distanced itself from the recent resignation and comments made by Prince Seun Adelore, the former PDP chairman in Ibadan North Local Government Area.
In a statement signed by Alhaji Lukman Adesina (Chairman of Chairmen), Hon. Shakiru Ojo (Secretary), and Hon. Ojebiyi Johnson (PRO), the forum expressed strong disapproval of Adelore’s public criticism of Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership style, describing it as unfounded and self-serving.
Adelore had announced his resignation on Sunday, July 7, 2025, citing alleged injustice, lack of reward for loyalty, and the erosion of democratic principles within the party. He also accused the current administration of promoting authoritarianism and punishing loyalty.
Reacting to his claims, the LG PDP Chairmen accused Adelore of attempting to mask his political failures and distract the public from what they called his “uninspiring” tenure as Chairman of the Oyo State Waste Management Board. They described his resignation statement as “a tale full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”
“Prince Seun Adelore will do himself and his sagging image a world of good by first rendering account of his stewardship… before pontificating on values way beyond his league,” the statement read.
The forum affirmed that Governor Seyi Makinde had done more for local government party chairmen than any of his predecessors and reaffirmed their unwavering support and loyalty to his administration.
“We wish to dissociate our members from Adelore’s ill-conceived and malicious vituperations while assuring His Excellency of our continued loyalty and support,” the statement concluded.
