The Oyo State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr. Abel Oche, has applauded President Bola Tinubu for implementing the new monthly allowance of seventy-seven thousand naira for corps members.
Mr. Oche gave the commendation during his opening remarks at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch A Stream One corps members, held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Iseyin.
The NYSC expressed optimism that the new allowance, which took effect last month, would enhance the economic stability of corps members during their service year. The agency also urged the new members to align their conduct with the NYSC mandate and the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Declaring the orientation course open, Oyo State Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde, represented by the Director of Sports Development at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Alhaja Kudirat Mustapha, advised corps members to resist the temptation of negative influences. She encouraged them to be self-reliant and proactive in wealth creation.
Two thousand eight hundred and thirteen corps members, comprising one thousand one hundred and seventy- two males and one thousand six hundred and forty-one females posted to Oyo State swore to the NYSC oath of allegiance led by the representative of the chief judge Justice Mojisola Sule.
