Oyo Government Presents Instruments of Office to Ladoja as Beaded Crown Ibadan High Chief
Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin has performed first official duty since his ascension to the throne, by crowning the Otun Olubadan, Senator Rashidi Ladoja as a beaded crown Ọba in Ibadan.
The event took place at the new Olubadan Palace at Oke -Aremo,Ibadan with other members of Olubadan -in- Council in attendance.
Presenting the Staff of Office to the New Ọba Rashidi Ladoja, on behalf of the state government, Oyo State Acting Governor, Chief Bayo Lawal commended the people of Ibadan for their commitment and resilience towards the progress and development of the ancient city.
Chief Lawal said the state government is committed to strengthening the traditional institution in the state to a pacesetting status worthy of emulation in the country.
Speaking, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Olakulehin who had earlier presided over the first Olubadan – in- Council meeting of his tenure, congratulated the people of Ibadanland on the renewed unity among Ibadan Kingmakers which he said would translate to peace, progress and development of Ibadan.
Responding, Oba Rashidi Ladoja noted that the people of Ibadan would always remain one and have ways of settling their misunderstandings without resulting to chaos.
It would be recalled that Senator Rashidi Ladoja had earlier refused to accept the beaded crown when his other fellow High Chiefs accepted it until last week when he declared his readiness to accept after the new gazetted ibadan Chieftaincy Declaration was released by the present Administration in Oyo State.
