Members of the Osun State Executive Council have declared their total solidarity and unwavering support for the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
Speaking to newsmen in Osogbo, the Secretary of the Forum of Commissioners, Mr. Dosu Babatunde, dismissed recent speculations suggesting that some members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had defected to another political party. He described the rumors as “a political fallacy taken to the extreme,” vowing that neither the Executive Council members nor the Governor would abandon the PDP ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election.
Addressing the media, Mr. Babatunde stated:
Your Excellency, Mr. Governor, we are using this opportunity to further affirm and reaffirm our love and unshakable solidarity for you and your administration in Osun State.”
He further condemned what he called mischievous insinuations from opposition parties about an alleged mass defection from the ruling PDP.
We read and heard with great consternation the many insinuations being mischievously bandied about in certain political quarters, particularly the opposition parties, about the looming mass defection of Executive Council members,” he said.
In addition, Mr. Babatunde firmly debunked rumors that Governor Adeleke was planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that the Governor and his cabinet remain committed to the PDP’s ideals and goals for Osun State.
