Oluwo Advocates Government Action Against Ritual Killings

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has emphasized the need for the federal and state governments to take drastic actions on the spate of ritual killings across the country

Oba Akanbi made the call in a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Mr. Ali Ibrahim.

He called for the establishment of a government agency that would be saddled with the sole responsibility to fight against ritual killings and cultism.

Oba Akanbi who said the spate of ritual killings in the country has become a cause for concern, opined that possession of human body parts should henceforth be made punishable by death.

Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi “The federal government formally established both the EFCC and the ICPC to tackle corruption. A similar institution should also be established to checkmate and address corruption in the traditional system such as money rituals and cultism

The alarming rate of innocent souls getting killed for money rituals calls for immediate curb. I read it daily on the pages of newspapers and on social media’ the monarch said.

The Monarch also emphasized the need to address the get-rich-quick-syndrome in the country especially among the young people.
