Ogun Begins Renovation of MKO Abiola Stadium for National Sports Festival
Ogun State government is to commence renovation work on the MKO Abiola International Stadium Kuto, Abeokuta in preparation for the National Sports Festival tagged ” 2024 GATEWAY GAMES”
Prime News observed that the facility in Abeokuta now bears inscription from the Ministry of Sports Development indicating that the Stadium will be closed down for renovation from 20th September, 2024.
The Commissioner for Sports Development, Mr. Wasiu Isiaka said the closing down of the stadium was necessary to ensure that renovation of the facility and others commence in earnest.
Mr Isiaka listed areas to be touched to include the VIP section, the tracks, the pitch, construction of swimming pool, hand ball court and other areas within the stadium.
