The National Population Commission, NPC, says Census remains a key instrument for community development and proper allocation of resources to residents.
NPC Federal Commissioner in Ondo State, Mrs Olukemi IyantanMrs Olukemi Iyantan stated this during a courtesy visit to Positive FM , Akure as part of the commission’s effort to foster partnership between the commission and the Media.
Mrs. Iyantan noted that the commission’s role in nation building could not be overemphasized as it was responsible for the issuance of birth certificates, death certificates and also reaching out to citizens at the grassroots level.
Receiving the NPC team, the General Manager of Positive FM, Mrs. Olubunmi Olalere assured the commission of the station’s support in its nation building initiatives.
Also Speaking, Positive FM head of Outside Broadcast and Sports Mr Olasunkanmi Taiwo advised the commission to increase media campaign on activities aimed at enlightening the public on various policies and programmes of government especially the much anticipated population census.
