Nigerians Deserve Better Social Security System in 2025 – Prophetess Adebayo
Founder, Christ Followers Evangelical Ministry (CFEM) Prophetess Esther Oluwakemi Adebayo Adonai has advocated an improved social security programme to ameliorate the sufferings of the masses in the face of Nigeria’s economic down turn.
Prophetess Adebayo, who made the call in a new year message, explained that countries all over the world, operate more organised social security programmes to address the challenges of their citizens , hence the need for Nigerian government to replcate this laudable programme to cater for the needs of the masses, especially those at the grassroots.
The cleric advised government to adopt the social security system of top flight countries like United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia where vulnerable groups such as children, women and the aged are well catered for and prioritised in the scheme of things
Go to countries like USA, UK, Canada and Australia, they have provision for the welfare of children, women and the elderly, why do you think people are rushing to go there? it is because the government there is committed to the welfare of both the citizen and the foreigners living there, they take care of the unemployed, and the needy”
while stressing the need for genuine love for the citizen by the political leaders, Prophetess Adebayo, enjoined them to rejig their administrative style to reflect love and empathy for the people saying the recent stampede which claimed thirty five lives during Children Funfair at Islamic High School Bashorun would have been averted but the pronounced hunger in the land triggered their actions
“If Nigeria is good, that tragic incident would not have happened, if the economy is friendly, people will not troop out to struggle for free food. The organisers meant well but the situation of the country changed the narrative. The situation is not like this in foreign countries, government take care of their citizens, especially those in distress, the unemployed youths are given allowance, the elderly also get allowance and medical relief, so if this is obtainable in Nigeria, such will not happen.”
