News of Re-introduction of Monthly Environmental Sanitation in July is Fake – LASG
Lagos State Government has said the viral news on social media, stating that the state government has re-introduced the monthly environmental sanitation by July ending is fake 
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, described the viral news as the work of mischief makers who are keen on confusing residents noting that government was is not starting any movement restriction by July ending
He urged all residents to go about their lawful businesses adding that there would be no restriction of movements on the last Saturday of July.
Wahab explained that what the Governor Babajide Sanwo- Olu announced on Sunday during a sanitation sensitisation exercise at Campos playground Lagos island was that the state will start a weekly community based sensitisation and awareness exercise that will involve all residents.
The Governor also stated that State Government officials will lead from the front every week by going round to join residents in cleaning their environment in a voluntary manner while preaching the message”.
The Commissioner urged all residents to imbibe the culture of regular cleaning of their surroundings and not wait till the government declares a particular month for commencement of sanitation or restriction of movement.
