A heartbreaking incident occurred on Easter Sunday in Emure Ekiti, as a one-year-old boy, Desmond Adewole, was tragically killed after being struck by an unidentified vehicle.
The accident took place within the premises of St. Paul’s Anglican Church during the Easter service. According to a church member who wished to remain anonymous, the child had unknowingly wandered outside in search of his mother when the fatal incident occurred.
Witnesses say Desmond was later found lifeless on the ground, in a position suggesting he had been accidentally run over. However, the identity of the driver involved remains unknown at this time.
The incident has plunged the community into mourning, leaving worshippers and residents in deep shock.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer for the Ekiti State Police Command, Mr. Sunday Abutu, confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death and identify the responsible party.
