Man Jumps Inside Osun River After Complaining of Hardship, Maltreatment
A man identified as Femi has jumped into Osun river in Osogbo, Osun State, following complaint of hardship
According to source close to the scene, Femi stood on the Gbodofon bridge located along Osogbo/Gbongan road around 10:30 in the morning of Saturday and jumped into the river.
Also a vulcaniser, who works close to the scene said he observed the man walking down from the Old Governor’s Office end of Osogbo/Gbongan road and stood for a few minutes in the middle of Gbodofon bridge before he took a plunge into the river.
Findings revealed that, before he jumped into the river, he mentioned that a group of people had beaten him mercilessly at a fast food joint in the Ogo Oluwa area, hence the decision to end his life.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Osun State Command, Mrs. Kehinde Adeleke said the victim had made previous attempt to commit suicide, but was chased away by some people who suspected his movement on the bridge.
Mrs Adeleke explained that efforts were ongoing by personnel of the Security Agency to recover the body of the Man.
