Late Designer of National Flag, Pa Akinkunmi for Burial September 6
Barely a year after the death of the Designer of Nigerian Flag, Late Pa. Taiwo Akinkunmi, his family has announced 4th to 6th of September, this year for his burial activities.
The announcement was contained in a statement by a Son of the deceased, Mr. Akinwunmi Akinkunmi, and made available to Newmen in Ibadan, Oyo State. 
He expressed gratitude to Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde for keeping to his promise by supporting the family in giving their patriarch a befitting burial.
In a similar vein, the family commended the Media for lending their support to the family’s voice until it got the desired attention of the concerned authorities.
While stating that the family is still hoping to hear from the Federal Government as regards its promises in respect of the burial, the family specifically requested that the Nigerian Flag be flown at half mast to give the departed Pa Akinkunmi his last respects during the burial period.
The family of pa Akinkunmi appreciated the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris for leading Federal Government Delegation to pay a condolence visit to the family when the national hero Passed On last year.
Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi died on the 29th of August 2023 and has been in the Morgue since then.
