IWD 2025: Oyo NAWOJ Seeks Collective Action to Amplify Call for Gender Equality

As the world commemorates the 2025 International Women’s Day (IWD), the Oyo State chapter of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has advocated the need for collective action to accelerate the call for gender equality in the country.

This is contained in a state signed by the Association’s state chairperson Mrs Omolola Alamu and made available to press men.

Speaking on this year’s theme, “Accelerate Actions for a Gender-Equal World”, Mrs Alamu noted that gender inequality was an age long challenge confronting the women folks, hence the need to put up policies and practices that would promote gender equality.

She affairmed the commitment of OYO NAWOJ to using its platform to amplify the voices of women and girls, against gender discrimination and inequality.

Mrs Alamu called on governments, policymakers, civil society, and individuals to show serious commitment towards stamping out the challenge.

OYO Nawoj also call on all stakeholders to prioritize investments in education, healthcare, and economic empowerment for women and girls.”
