Israel-Hezbollah Conflict: Nigeria Evacuates Citizens from Lebanon
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Nigeria has commenced the evacuation its citizens from Lebanon amid the Israel-Hezbollah conflict.
Spokesperson Amb. Eche Abu-Obe, in statement said over 500 Nigerians have registered with the Mission, “lhowever, there are more than 2000 Nigeria citizens residing in the country.
He noted that though most of them have not indicated willingness to return home in spite of the persuasion by the embassy, efforts were in motion to ensure safety of the citizens.
“Evacuation efforts are ongoing, with plans to deploy a C-130 aircraft” the statement added.
The government urged citizens to cooperate as the situation may worsen.
