The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has approved the appointment of DSP Jimoh Abayomi Kazeem as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ofOndo State Police Command.
This was disclosed in a press release issued on Monday, noting that Kazeem takes over from DSP Ayanlade Olushola, the outgoing command spokesperson.
DSP Kazeem, a member of Regular Course 2, 2019, is a graduate of Computer Science from the Nigeria Police Academy, Kano.
According to the statement, the new PPRO is a seasoned officer with extensive operational and administrative experience, having served in various capacities within the Force.
He previously worked as a Crime Officer as well as Patrol and Guard Officer in the Lagos State Police Command before his posting to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal–Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) unit at the Force Headquarters, where he served as a unit commander.
Until his recent appointment, Kazeem was attached to the Counter Terrorism and CBRNE Unit of the INTERPOL Section, Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Abuja.
The statement further revealed that he has undergone several professional courses and specialised trainings, including Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing, Basic EOD-CBRNe Training, Global Biosecurity Enhancement Programme for Law Enforcement Joint Criminal-Epidemiologic Investigation, and Counter Terrorism Technical Training, among others.
The IGP noted that Kazeem’s depth of knowledge, investigative acumen, administrative competence, and strong communication skills make him well suited for the position.
