Hunger Protest: Our Mumu Don Do, We’ll Match Force with Unreasonable Elements – Oyo CP
The Nigeria Police force has disclosed its readiness to match force with protesters who forment troubles during the planned August 1st hunger protest in Oyo state
The force noted that the citizens were constitutionally empowered to voice out their grievances through the form of peaceful protest, sounding notes of warning to anyone planning disruption or violence to desist as the police will not spare such a person.
“During the end sars protest, police were at the receiving end. This time, we have been too cold, while they attack and kill men of the force, our mumu Don do, we’ll not tolerate any act of violence in this protest”
“The essence of protest is to create awareness to call on government on issues of general concerns and feelings, not by destruction. Destructive tendency doesn’t achieve anything rather than emplacing anarchy and chaos and at the end it leaves sorrow, tears and blood.

The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr. Ayodele Sonubi while address journalists during their monthly congress held at Dapo Aderogba hall, NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku Ibadan, enjoined the conduct themselves orderly, urging them not to test the patience of policemen deployed to guarantee their security.
Sonubi, charged journalists to verify whatever incident brought to their notice with the police public relations officer so as to avoid fake news as it could fuel outrage of violence while the protest lasted.
