Popular Nollywood actress, Eniola Ajao has revealed how she almost terminated her life due to a viral fake news about her.
The actress, who reflected on the devastating effect, fake news once had on her, revealed that it was the first time in her life she had experienced something so painful.
She opened up on the harrowing experience on Nollywood on Radio, a show dedicated to Nigerian cinema where she explained that the experience posed a setback on her then film project
“I almost poisoned myself because there was news about me online that was far from true.
It was the first time in my life that I faced something so paìnful. I didn’t eat for seven straight days. People around me can testify. I didn’t go anywhere.”
The actress said her son tried to handle the situation by reaching out to everyone and telling them that she was struggling with the lie.
My sisters were calling, telling me, ‘You have to do this for yourself. You don’t have to poison yourself.’ My son was reaching out to everyone, saying I was struggling with this lie online.
