Hoodlums Attack Amotekun Operatives in Osun

Operatives of the Osun State Security Network Agency, popularly known as the Amotekun Corps, were violently attacked by armed hoodlums at their command post in Awo, Egbedore Local Government Area.

According to a statement issued by the corps’ spokesperson, Yusuf Idowu Abass, the incident occurred last Friday and involved a gang led by a notorious and long-wanted thug, Ismaila Aluko.

According to him, Amotekun officers had initially arrived at the scene following reports of suspicious activities but discovered that a burial, believed to be linked to the gang, had already taken place. Moments later, Aluko and his armed collaborators launched a surprise attack, leaving several officers injured.

In a shocking turn of events, the hoodlums regrouped and staged a second attack on the Amotekun office in Awo,” the statement revealed.

Reacting to the incidents, the Corps Commander, Dr. Isaac Omoyele, strongly condemned the unprovoked violence, describing it as a direct threat to the peace and security of the state, emphasizing that such acts would no longer be tolerated.

Dr. Omoyele assured the public that the agency is working closely with other security forces to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
