Gov Makinde Tasks Corps Members on Good Conduct
Corps members serving in Oyo state have been charged to live as change agents in their respective community of service.
The Oyo state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde gave the charge at while declaring the orientation course for 2024 Batch A Stream 2 closed at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Iseyin, Oyo State.
The governor, represented by the state commissioner for youth and sports development, miss Wosilat Adegoke, explained that the society placed high expectations on the young graduates to serve as role models to the younger generation in their respective community of service.
He enjoined them to join hands with the government to stamp out corruption and deploy their expertise and ingenuity to fight the scourge of poverty and economic hardship currently militating against the country.
Earlier in an address, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Abel Oche, enjoined the corps members not to deviate from the training instill in them during the three weeks orientation exercise.
Mr Oche, tasked them to explore additional learning of skills which would make them self reliant to contribute to the economic fortune of the country after the one year mandatory service.
While urging the corps members not to denigrate the tradition and culture of their host communities, the NYSC State Coordinator advocate provision of corps lodges in all the thirty local government areas of the state to ease the accomodation problem of corps members serving in the state.
