FG Declares 16th September National Symbols Enlightenment Day
The Federal Executive Council, FEC, has approved every 16th of September as a National Symbols Enlightenment Day across the Country.
Director-General, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu stated this at a Programme on the Launch of the National Identity Project and other Ongoing Nationwide Programmes of the Agency, at the NOA Office, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Mallam Issa-Onilu who was represented by the Director, Political Education, Civic and Values, National Headquarters, Abuja, Mrs Adeola Adelaja said, there was the need to revitalise the dignity of the Nation’s National Symbols such as the Flag, Anthem and Pledge with a view to building National Pride.
Speaking on the various Key Policies of the present Administration, Mallam Issa-Onilu maintained that, Policies like Student Loan Scheme, Nigeria Youth Investment Fund, Removal of Fuel Subsidies, Energy Sector Reforms among others were aimed at addressing the Nation’s Socio – economic challenges.
He urged People to be patient with the Government in its commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians.
In a remark, Oyo State Director of NOA, Dr. Olukemi Afolayan called on the media to continue to partner National Orientation Agency to sensitise the Public on the policies, esteemed values, norms and cultural diversity of Nigeria.
Dr. Afolayan expressed optimism that such partnership would help in realising the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu in a shortest time.
