Family, Friends, Associates Celebrate Prince Dotun Oloyede At 85

It was a day for jokes, pleasantries and banters by friends, families and associates at the birthday celebration of a former Deputy Director News in Radio Nigeria, Prince Dotun Oloyede in Ibadan at the weekend.

The event which lasted about seven hours at a prestigious event centre near the University of Ibadan was witnessed by many of his professional colleagues in media industry, classmates with friends of children who came from far and near to celebrate their father.

Speaking at the occasion, a former Features Editor in Sketch Newspapers, Alhaji Layi Agbaje, stressed the importance of visionary leadership qualities as a key to sustain quality relationship.
Alhaji Agbaje recalled their days in Mass Communication Department in University of Lagos and how they kept their visions alive to attain their goals.

A former Director News, Radio Nigeria Mr Ademola Afolabi and one in his team Alhaji Kola Animashaun recalled the professional skill and ethics which they learnt from Prince Oloyede when they joined the organisation.

Chief Adeyemi Soladoye, a former President-General Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII, mentioned some remarkable experiences he had with the celebrant which showed how caring and meticulous he is.

Another speaker at the occasion who led the surviving 1959 set of Molusi College, Ijebu Igbo, Alhaji Gani Oladimeji extolled the academic and socio life of Prince Oloyede which made them to be close till date.

A childhood friend who spoke from the family Chief Johnson Akintayo recalled how they were registered for their basic school in standard one at Egbeda-Atuba in the late forties.

Expressing gratitude to the people who graced the occasion, one of the children, Prince Toyese Oloyede prayed for grace of long life for all guests over the honour done to their father in sparing time to grace the occasion.

Other dignitaries who attended the occasion were the former Managing Director of Sketch Newspapers, Prince Sola Oyegbemi, three former General Managers in Radio Nigeria, Pastor Kayode Akinsola, Elder Tunde Abiodun and Deacon Femi Oladipo.
