Court Adjourns Trial of Ex-Oyo PMS Boss, Auxiliary Till January 22
Justice Bayo Taiwo of Oyo State High Court, Ring – Road, Ibadan has adjourned till January 22, 2025, for continuation of hearing in the on – going trial between the state and former Chairman of the Park Management System, PMS in the state, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi also known as Auxiliary.
Justice Taiwo adjourned the matter due to the objection of the defence Counsel to the defendant, Mr Olalekan Ojo ,SAN, to the calling of a police officer to give evidence.
Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, Mr S. O . Adeoye who appeared for the state had called Inspector Innocent Agede from Oyo state Police Command Monitoring Unit , Eleyele , Ibadan , to give evidence.
Mr Ojo said, the state counsel did not serve him with the summary of the evidence.
He said, the witness called did not have a statement , and no summary of his evidence as mandatorily required by section 380 subsection four of the Administration of Criminal Justice of Nigeria 2016.
Alhaji Lamidi is facing trial on seventeen count charge bothering on armed robbery, murder, attempted murder, possession of firearms, including one AK-47 assault rifle.
The case bothers on offences allegedly committed on 29th of May, 2023, at the resident of the state governor, Seyi Makinde located at Ikolaba, Ibadan.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Lamidi had pleaded not guilty to the 17 count charge read to him on November 27th, 2024.
