Common Entrance: Pupils Display High Spirits at Examination Centres in Ibadan
Primary school pupils participating in the 2024 common entrance examination turned up in high spirits as they write their papers in their respective centers
Our Correspondent, who monitored the exercise in some of the centres in Ibadan metropolis, including Yinbol College, Orogun, and Immanuel Grammar School, Oríta, U.I reports that the pupils who appeared in their respective school uniforms reported early at the centres
The pupils, accompanied by parents and guardians were subjected to a brief assembly session where the supervisors reeled out instructions and sitting arrangements for the conduct of the exam after which they filed into the hall to settle down for the examination.
Commenting on the conduct of the exercise, the Principal, Immanuel Grammar school, Mrs Adebisi Busari, who highlighted inadequate seats as a challenge which affected the sitting arrangement, commended the conduct of the pupils, adding that she was impressed by their mastery of the new national anthem
Two parents who lauded the early commencement of the papers urged the government to adopt the Computer Based Test, CBT mode for seamless conduct of the exercise.
The parents noted that the common entrance when migrated to CBT would solve teething problems caused by exam centres and sitting arrangements usually associated with late commencement of the exercise
