Burna Boy Floats Football Academy
Nigeria artist and Grammy Award winner Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has established a football academy with centres in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt.
Details about the academy which was circulated via the internet, indicated that the academy scouts players from ages 4–15 as well as 16 and 21 years.
According to the official website of the academy, the initiative was to sharpen the soccer talents of Nigerian Children
We aim to create an environment where kids can learn the fundamentals of football, combined with education, discipline, and technique, to excel in life beyond the sport,”
“We strive to engage parents in sports education, emphasising its importance alongside academic pursuits.”
The website listed English Premier League clubs like Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspurs, Leicester City, and Brighton, as well as Championship side Watford, as partners.
