Aiyedatiwa Commends First Lady’s Free Health Care Initiative for Niger Delta States

The Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa has lauded the RHI /NDDC Collaborative Efforts in the Niger Delta States as well as the efforts of the First Lady of the Federal republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu on the flag-off ceremony of Free Health Care Services, Renovation of Health care facility and Donation of Eleven Ambulances and Commissioning of School.

Speaking through the Special Adviser to the governor on Women Affairs, Dr Seun Osamaye at the 2025 flagged off of the Niger Delta Development Commission free medical outreach and donation of medical equipment to some health facilities in Otueshegha, Ogbia, Bayelsa state, The governor commended the federal government for remaining focused on bridging the gap in quality medical services with interventions designed to provide sustainable and affordable healthcare solutions for poor and vulnerable citizens.

The program was chaired by the Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wives of governors, ministers, and appointees of governments at the state and federal levels.

Speaking at the flag-off, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, reaffirmed the federal government‘s commitment to improving healthcare access for vulnerable Nigerians, particularly in rural communities.

She emphasized that the initiative, executed in collaboration with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Renewed Hope Initiative, aims to reduce mortality rates and ensure timely medical care for underserved populations.

In attendance were Governor Of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, Minister of Regional Development, Engineer Abubakar Momoh, Chairman of the Senate Committee on NDDC, Senator Ekpenyong Asuquo, Chairman, of House Committee on NDDC, Hon Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu and other national assembly members, The MD of NDDC, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, ED Cooperate Services, Hon Ifedayo Abegunde, Ondo State NDDC Rep Hon Otito Atikase, and other members of the NDDC board, State APC leaders and women Stakeholders.

The beneficiary states are the nine states of the Niger Delta region, namely, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, at Delta, Rivers, Edo, Imo, Abia, and Ondo states, with Bayelsa State graciously hosting the event.
