Ademola Agoro Foundation Trains Engineering Graduates on Smart Metering
The Ademola Isaac Agoro Engineering Empowerment Foundation has flagged off a two weeks intensive training on Smart Metering for young engineers in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The training organised in collaboration with Protogy Global Services Limited aimed at exposing the trainees to various aspects of meter assembly, configuration and installation.
According to the sponsor of the empowerment programme and Managing Director of Protogy Global Services Limited, Engr. Ademola Agoro, the trainees enjoyed free accommodation, feeding and transportation for the period of the training so as to enable them devote full concentration in the sessions.
Agoro, an energy expert who disclosed that over one thousand youths had been empowered since the foundation was established three years ago explained that the initiative was to bridge the wide skill gap and as well position the young graduates in power sector, automobile, technicians and others.
He hinted on the plans for after training programme for the beneficiaries saying job placement would be arranged when they are successfully accredited by the engineering regulatory body.

” The training comes in two parts, which are CNG Auto gas conversion, which will also commence on the 20th of January and ends on the 30th of the month, while the smart meter installation is ongoing and will end by 18th January.”
Facilitator of the programme, Adewale Ikotun, explained that the training was in line with President ‘Bola Tinubu’s agenda, saying the trainees would get hands on experience on how meters are manufactured, coupled, and installed.
Two beneficiaries, Fatai Ajibola and Abdulrosheed Abdullateef, appreciated Ademola Isaac Agoro Foundation for the training while expressing optimism that the exposure would make them better placed in solving the challenges in the energy sector.
