CCII Confers Award of Excellence Kishi-Born Engineer, Femi Alao
The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), the umbrella body of all clubs and associations of Ibadan indigenes worldwide on has honoured a Kishi-born Engineer, Femi Alao with award of excellence for his immense contributions to the growth and development of Ibadanland.
The conferment ceremony is part of activities marking this year’s Ibadan Cultural Festival week.
Presenting the award, President-General of the CCII, Chief Ajeniyi Ajewole described Engr. Femi Alao as exemplary in his contributions to the development of Ibadan City.
I am impressed that Engr. Femi Alao isn’t from Ibadan but he has been contributing to the growth and development of Ibadanland and that’s why we are recognizing and honoring him. We have so many people who are not from Ibadan and are immensely contributing to the development of Ibadan. His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Bayo Lawal is one of those individuals who aren’t from Ibadan but they are doing well by contributing to the development of Ibadanland.” CCII President-General said.
On his part, The Chairman 2025 Ibadan Festival Committee , Chief Abola Alli, stated that Alao merited the recognition and honour, noting that the awardee was passionate about the development of the ancient city.
We in Ibadan have decided to celebrate you now so as to show you that Ibadan has created a deserved place for you in its history. You are most deserving of this honor by virtue of your unrelentless and selfless services to Ibadanland.
“We are always ready to recognize and honor Ibadan indigenes and non indigenes who are doing well and contributing to the growth and development of Ibadanland.
“Ibadan week has started as we have always been setting a week aside for the celebration. Ibadan is known for royalty, honor and other good things.
“Engr. Alao deserves this honor and that’s why we found him worthy for this honor and recognition. He has always been doing well for Ibadan,“ the Ibadan 2025 festival planning committee chairman said.
Speaking shortly after recieving the award, Engr Femi Alao appreciated the CCII for the recognition saying it would spur him to contribute more to the development of Ibadanland
Reacting, the Ajia Balogun of Ibadanland, Chief Adegboyega Adegoke commended the CCII for recognising the “tremendous and amazing” contributions of Engr. Alao saying the awardee was a humble, loyal and industrious person
Engr. Femi Alao is a loyal, humble, industrious and transparent person. He really deserves this recognition and honour,“ Adegboyega said.
