The Lagos State Police Command has charged Stella Nwadigbo, a 45-year-old woman, with the indecent treatment and assault of a child.

The suspect was brought before the Lagos State Chief Magistrate Court in Ogba after a recent viral video surfaced, showing her abusing a three-year-old pupil from a primary school in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

She however pleaded not guilty to the charges

Upon receiving the video, the Family Support Unit (FSU) of the Ikorodu Police Division promptly arrested Nwadigbo on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, and transferred her to the Gender Unit at the Command Headquarters later that same day, following preliminary investigations.

The child victim was taken to a medical facility to receive proper medical attention.

Nwadigbo has been remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Facility until February 18, 2025, when the case is scheduled for further hearing.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Ishola, commended Nigerians for their swift action in alerting the police to the situation.

He assured the public of the Command’s commitment to responding quickly and appropriately to ensure the safety and security of both residents and visitors in Lagos State.
