Police Raises Alarm Over Increasing Cases of Missing Persons in Ogun
Ogun State Police Command has alerted the public over an unprecedented increase in reports of missing individuals across all age groups in the state.
In a statement in Abeokuta, the Ogun state Police Public Relations Officer, Ms Omolola Odutola, regretted ghat only a small fraction of the missing individuals are located, while a significant number do not return home.
She explained that the command, as part of efforts to tackle the trend has began public awareness on the need for people to prioritize their safety by maintaining a heightened sense of security.
The Police spokesperson noted that The Commissioner of Police, based on insights from rescued individuals, has appealed to parents to refrain from using commercial transportation services for their children with unknown strangers.
He also encouraged youths to activate digital communication and sharing features on their mobile devices while traveling, especially during moments of distress.
